Parish Records (Marriage, Banns, Baptism and Burials etc.)

The parish of Wyke Regis only holds registers of Marriages, Banns and Baptisms which are currently in use. The current registers held are as follows:

All Saints Church

Banns of Marriage from May 1991.
Baptisms from March 1959.
Marriages from April 1987.
Confirmation from May 1975.

 St Edmunds Church

Banns of Marriage from 1951
Baptisms from 1950
Marriages from 1988
Confirmation from 1951

The fees for obtaining copies of entries of registers held are as follows:

Copy of marriage certificate £7.00
Copy of an entry in Baptism register £19.00

Cheques should be made payable to "All Saints Church" and sent to the Rector (see details on contacts page).

Older Records

When these registers are full as a legal requirement they are held at the local government records office for permanent storage and for public access. The Records Office (now called The History Centre) holds parish records for Wyke Regis as follows:

Baptisms from 1676
Marriages from 1676
Banns of Marriage from 1691
Burials from1676

Current Records for Burials and Cremations

Current records of burials and cremations and other records in respect of graveyards within the borough of Weymouth & Portland are maintained by the local authority Bereavement Services department  who are responsible for all graveyards.
